Christy the Busy Bee or Why I Haven't Updated Lately
POSTED  26-SEPTEMBER-2002

Well, I’ve slacked on posting anything new on this page for a while. There are a few reasons. I think the main one revolves around the fact that my fingers hurt when I type too much. Another factor is my inherent laziness that seems to have cropped up again lately. Lastly, I have had mucho company in the last few days.

Last Thursday (the day after my last post) my parents stopped by on their way down to visit my brother. My parents have been traveling across the continent (mostly Alaska, and some in Canada) since mid-May. They will finally be returning to “home base” next Monday. Anyways, I chatted with them about their travels, and about what I had been doing while they were gone, and we went out to dinner. Olive Garden, yum.

On Friday, Terry came by for a visit. He was in town on a business trip, and stayed to visit us, and his sister. I saw him for about an hour, then proceeded to drive ~150 miles to Tallahassee, to help my sister continue her packing / moving process.

Saturday morning my sister and I drove back down to Gainesville, called my husband (and Terry) to come help unload the cars, picked up Alison from her house, and made plans from there. We ate, and then ended up playing Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (3rd edition) with Rusty and Allyson from about 9 pm to about 3:30 am. We finished up the tail end of our one campaign, and began a side adventure for all of us (Anne and Terry included). Anne was staying at our house that night, as was Terry (he had stayed with is sister the night before) We got out so late, that no one felt like driving Alison home, so she ended up staying over, as well.

Sunday, well most people slept in. Terry left to drive back down to south Florida, and Anne and Alison and I watched the newly purchased “Monsters Inc.”, and then played around with the features on the extra DVD for about an hour and a half after that. We then gathered Nicki, who had just returned to town, and went to eat. After that, we pacified our anime addiction by watching the rest of the 2nd DVD of The Sorcerer Hunters we had borrowed from Karen.

Monday, ah, work. Sigh. Then I came home and took a nap. I also started the 2nd book in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy (total of 5 books). I had listened to the first book (the only one I have on tape) on the way to and from Tallahassee. Monday is our “dinner night” so, around 7 we gathered Nicki and Alison, and went to Applebee’s. We stopped by a used bookstore on the way home, and then I went to bed early.

Tuesday, work, and class. I love working with the improv students that are starting out. I still feel unsure of myself as a teacher / teacher’s aid, but the group I am working with is AWESOME. I promise to write more later on this (have been meaning to, anyway). Then we went to our martial art, and after the first hour (Toby, Alison and I usually stay for two) we found out that our school is changing which art it teaches, and as of Thursday (our next class day) we will be learning Choi Kwang Do. This was a shock, and again, something I will write more on later. We went home, and spent the rest of the evening eating dinner, and looking up Choi Kwang Do on line to see what we will now be learning.

Wednesday, after work, I went to get the necessary oil change in my car, and the groceries that have been put off since Friday. Shortly after I got home, Alison and Nicki came over. We talked to my sister on the phone as I cooked dinner, then watched the recorded season premiere of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The sound was all funky, though, and hard to hear. Darn. Then I got on the computer long enough to do my class write up, and my hands started hurting again, dissuading me from working on the website.

That brings us to today. I’m sorry I haven’t really done anything but explain why this page hasn’t been updated sooner, but I felt you had a right to know. Plus, I will be starting (by next month, I had said, and so it shall be) a “I wonder where my friends are” page. In prep for this, I have sent a number of my friends (but by no means all) a survey to fill out for their own personalized page. I do intend to send a survey to all my friends, and to make it available on-line for those I don’t have e-mail addresses for, but I wanted to send out a few at a time, in order to prevent flooding of my mail box, and to give me time to design the page. THANKS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE RETURNED YOUR SURVEYS. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE; I AM STANDING AND APPLAUDING YOU NOW.

Well, that’s it, thanks, and I’ll try to update again (sooner next time).

Bye.
