Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
1 tbsp. oil (I don't use this since the beef has enough oil & grease)
1/2 cup chopped onions (I just used the dried minced onions at the store
equivalent amount = 2 tbsp.)
1/4 cup chopped green pepper (optional, I never add it)
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
|
Cooking Directions:
Brown the ground beef in the oil- breaking it into small pieces as you stir
and brown.
Skim off excess fat if needed.
Add the remaining ingredients.
Mix, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.
Spoon Sloppy Joe onto hamburger buns and add what you want to the sandwich
like butter (for the buns), pickles, relish, etc.

serves 6-8 people
If you want to change it into chili burgers, add 1 15-16 oz can of kidney
beans (drained) and 1 tsp. chili powder. |
