The Music (fade;
jazz; simple; trophy)

The jazz music floats down the street
Fading into the dark night
Like an echo of a long lost love
The streetlight throws a golden glow
And all it touches is transformed to angelic stature
The night wears on, and simple people
Go on with their simple lives.
Eating a quick dinner from a plastic tray,
In front of the God-like box they call the T.V.
Kids play until they can’t see anymore
Kids’ games, not for real the prize is
A candy bar; no trophy here,
And the music fades on in the night
Like the memories of my life
