Removed (crumpled; microbe; peoke; underprivilidged)
|
A soiled tunic, crumpled on the floor
A foul smell arising from it
A warm bath drawn
A pot of pekoe tea
I slip into my own time
And relive my day
A day in the life of a peasant
The horses, the stench, strong ale
The bar wench delivers sweet smiles
With each drink
The phone rings, and I’m back
My own time - I wish to live
Back in time, but I can’t
Each weekend I try – become a
Microbe in the small recreation
Of medieval times, allows me to forget
Allows me to grovel, and be underprivileged.
My maid comes in –fresh towel
The call was mummy
She’ll be over for proper tea
I sigh, resigned
This live assigned
SIGH- THE ROYAL LIFE FOR ME
