So Different
It Hurts (tazza; imparity; Herculean; persuasion)
|
Over dinner of pasta and fine wine
Or a plate of steak, rare, bloody, and beer
They discussed
Or grunted
Why it wouldn’t work between them
Her fine abode, complete with tazza and Picasso
And his flat, with Corelle and underwear
Her prized pet poodle, Socrates
And his half-wolf, Beast
The imparity between lifestyles grew ever more apparent
Her aspiration for politics
His primal need to show his Herculean strength
Her soft tactics and persuasion
Against his bullying
It would never work
They were disillusioned from the start
But what could they do
So different it hurts
So far they had to shout at each other
But then there was the great equalizer
Removing all barriers
Demolishing all hurdles
They were in love. |
